The Hellenic-Japanese Karate Academy “Tatsuo Suzuki” was founded in 2011, in order to promote Wado Ryu Karate and other traditional Japanese martial arts.

Our school was named after Sensei Tatsuo Suzuki (8th Dan Hanshi) after his personal approval. Our goal is to keep alive the spirit and technique that he bequeathed to us. Through our Academy, our goal is to promote other aspects of Japanese culture beyond the purely athletic aspect of martial arts. Instructor of our school is Angelos Gorgas (6th Dan) Wado International Karate-Do Federation. Angelos Gorgas, a graduate coach of the General Secretariat of Sports and a graduate of the College of Sports Sciences, has been involved in karate since 1987, having numerous distinctions in National Championships, Selected Athlete of the Armed Forces and Security Forces 1997 & 1998) , holder of two Balkan medals (WKF) and with more recent distinctions, Gold Champion 2009- 2014 Kata veterans and Tanto dori in WIKF. The most honourable moment in Angelos Gorgas’ career was the invitation from the UK Karate Federation – at the personal request of Sensei Tatsuo Suzuki – to participate in the Japanese Martial Arts Gala held in London in support of Japan following the devastating earthquake of March 2011, presenting Wado karate. Our Association is a member of the Hellenic Karate Federation (ELOK) and the World Wado Karate Federation (WIKF). Our school organizes seminars with invited distinguished Masters, takes part in seminars, and participates with its athletes in sports competitions in Greece and abroad. The competitive team of our Association has already achieved distinctions at the Panhellenic and International level.
