Our history in the field of optics begins in 1959 when the founder of “Optolife Sapounakis”, Konstantinos Sapounakis, started his individual activity in the trade of optical goods, which he continued until his retirement in 2007. In 1962 Konstantinos Sapounakis acquired the title of Optolife.

The “Optolife Sapounakis” stores begin their course in the retailing of Optics in 1987 with the establishment of the 1st store in G. 6 Gennimata Street in Terpsithea, Glyfada. In 1994, the 2nd store followed, in G. G. Goniakis Street, in Tbilisi. Gennimata 86 Terpsithea Glyfada and in 2000, the 3rd store at 137a Gounari Street, Ano Glyfada.

The continuation of the activity of Konstantinos Sapounakis in the retail optics business is continued by his children Elias and Nikolaos Sapounakis.

Elias Sapounakis has been active in the field since 1986 alongside his studies. Since 1992 he is a graduate of the Optics Department of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. In 1996 he completed the postgraduate program in “Ophthalmic refraction and Optometry” at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. In 2017 he obtained the postgraduate degree in “Medical Imaging in Ophthalmology” from the Department of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace.

Nikolaos Sapounakis has been active in the field since 1989 alongside his studies at the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1998 he obtained a diploma in Optics – Optometry.
