The history of Sinapis Eye Institute

The name Sinapis has a long history in the field of Ophthalmology. The office in which our team is currently housed has had a continuous presence since 1967. Elias Sinapis, husband of Vasiliki Sinapis and father of three children Christos, Dimitris and Angelos, was the first to practice ophthalmology in this place, which is one of the oldest ophthalmological practices in Greece. Elias Sinapis was an excellent Ophthalmologist who left his mark in the field of Ophthalmology, served this science with consistency and responsibility and was particularly loved by the local community of Glyfada.

Elias Sinapis passed away in 1989 and the practice continued to operate under the direction of his wife Vasiliki Sinapis, mother of their three children Christos, Dimitris and Angelos. Vasiliki Sinapi has been practicing Ophthalmology with consistency and great love ever since, providing high quality care to her patients with over 25 years of experience.

The team was joined in recent years by her three children, Christos, Dimitris and Angelos, after a long stay abroad and specialization in the world’s largest centers for Ophthalmology in Europe and America.

With their different sub-specialization each but with the same passion for high quality patient care, they effectively cover the whole spectrum of ophthalmological diseases and are able to treat any ophthalmological case, no matter how complex and demanding it may be. At the same time, however, they are governed by the same principles and values that have characterised the practice since its early years: Love for the Patient, Respect and Care for the precious commodity of Vision.
